Shashi Kapoor's personal life was deeply intertwined with his career and family. He met Jennifer Kendal, an English actress, in Calcutta in 1956, and they married in July 1958 despite initial opposition. Their union yielded three children: Kunal, Karan, and Sanjana Kapoor. The couple worked together in numerous films, including Merchant Ivory productions. Tragically, Jennifer's death from cancer in 1984 left Shashi devastated. He never fully recovered from her loss.
